Biology is the study of life. It teaches students how to understand and interpret evidence from the natural world, and how to conduct experiments to investigate such questions as: How do living things reproduce? What are the patterns and processes of evolution? How can organisms adapt to their environment?Biology for Year 10 is a dynamic and challenging course dealing with the full range of living organisms, from bacteria to whales. The course introduces students to the broad subject of biology and builds on the skills acquired in other units as well as key science knowledge.Biological concepts are explained using relevant examples, with attention to the relevance of these examples to real life decision making. The overall theme of this unit is ‘Relevance: how we make sense of the world around us.
