Cybersecurity (Beginner - Intermediate Course)

Cybersecurity (Beginner - Intermediate Course)

Course Description:The Cybersecurity Intermediate Class is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of advanced concepts and techniques in the field of cybersecurity. This course builds upon the foundational knowledge gained in the introductory level course and delves into more complex topics related to securing information systems and protecting against cyber threats.Throughout this course, students will explore various essential areas of cybersecurity, including network security, cryptography, secure coding, incident response, and vulnerability assessment. Emphasis will be placed on practical applications and hands-on exercises to enhance skills and reinforce theoretical concepts.Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors. They will gain practical experience in identifying and mitigating various types of cyber threats, such as malware, phishing attacks, social engineering, and denial of service (DoS) attacks.Furthermore, the course will cover advanced network security concepts, including secure network architecture, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and virtual private networks (VPNs). Students will learn how to design and implement secure networks to protect sensitive data and ensure the integrity and availability of network resources.Incident response and recovery will be a core aspect of the course, teaching students how to effectively detect, respond to, and recover from cybersecurity incidents. They will learn how to establish incident response procedures, conduct post-incident analysis, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.Lastly, students will develop skills in conducting vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses in information systems and build robust security postures. They will learn how to perform vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and ethical hacking techniques to assess and improve the security of systems and networks.By the end of the Cybersecurity Intermediate Class, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle complex cybersecurity challenges, secure information systems, and develop effective strategies for protecting against cyber threats. This course will serve as a solid foundation for further advanced studies or professional certification in the field of cybersecurity.Requirements for CybersecurityBasic knowledge in the following programming language(s)• Python• HTML/CSS/JAVASCRIPT And mysql/sql/nosql database System Recommended• Intel Core i7 or equivalent processor.• 16 GB of RAM.• 500 GB storage system.• Discrete graphics card.• Webcam.• USB Port.• Wifi capable.Hardware Requirements• 64-bit processor, Intel Core i7 or higher.• Processor speed: 2 GHz or higher.• Storage: At least 6 GB available disk space.• RAM: At least 16 GB (32 GB recommended)• Screen resolution: Minimum 1920 X 1080 (PC) ...• Keyboard and mouse/trackpad.• High-speed Internet connection (Ethernet or Wi-Fi)• 32-bit video card.
